ChatPal Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the ChatPal mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility
You may use ChatPal only if you are at least 13 years old and legally able to enter into these Terms. ChatPal is intended primarily for adults.
2. Your Account
To use ChatPal, you must create an account using your name and email address.
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your account secure
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
3. Use of the Services
ChatPal provides AI-powered language practice through voice and text conversations.
You agree to use the Services only for lawful, personal, and non-commercial purposes. You may not:
- Misuse, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services
- Reverse engineer or copy any part of the Services
- Use the Services in a way that violates applicable laws or regulations
4. Voice, AI, and User Content
When you use ChatPal:
- Your microphone audio is processed to enable speech recognition and AI-generated responses
- Text transcripts of conversations may be stored to operate and improve the Services
“User Content” includes anything you speak, type, or otherwise submit through the Services.
You are responsible for the content you choose to share. You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, abusive, or infringes the rights of others.
By providing User Content, you grant ChatPal a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process that content solely to operate and improve the Services, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
5. AI Limitations
ChatPal uses artificial intelligence to generate responses. AI-generated content may be inaccurate or incomplete and should not be relied upon as professional advice (including legal, medical, or financial advice).
Use your judgment when interacting with the Services.
6. Intellectual Property
The Services, including all software, designs, text, graphics, and logos (excluding User Content), are owned by or licensed to ChatPal and are protected by intellectual property laws.
You may not use ChatPal’s name or branding without prior written permission.
7. Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time and may request account deletion by contacting support@chatpal.chat.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if required for legal, security, or operational reasons.
8. Disclaimer
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” CHATPAL MAKES NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CHATPAL WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR SPECIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES.
CHATPAL’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED USD $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO CHATPAL IN THE THREE (3) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Effective Date” above. Continued use of the Services means you accept the updated Terms.
